Allan Nielsen - Fatamorgana by Nightology Records

Allan was born at Randers hospital and has been living in the country side of East Jutland. Already in very young age he listened to dance music and was fascinated by electronic music, as a child he tried to write songs together with some friends but it never turned out to something further. Some years went by and Allan had some trouble finding the right kind of music that fitted with his person, one night DJ’ing at his school, he discovered dance music from Italy called Italo, he loved that music so much that he wanted to start out making it, and after a few years, the music became so good that it could get played at parties, radio, and even be released in Italy. But as time went he got tired of making 4/4 bass lines and wanted some more challenge in music making, some of his best friends was digging House Music mostly from Sweden (The Swedish House Mafia) and he was hooked on the atmosphere and the funkiness. And since he has been developing his own sound.

3 Influences in your music: I really like 1960’s & 70’s soundquality, 1980’s electronic sounds and beats. But I don’t really have rigorous influences; because sometimes I change my inspirations from time to time, right now I really dig minimalism cause I really like the texture of the sounds. But electro music is cool too

Favourite Danish Venue: ehmm I like Café Von Hatten which is a very cool place in Randers where they play really underground music and alternative music, and because there’s a lot of different kinds of people there. Club Vesterå 4 (V4) is more party, so like to get there and dance my ass off! especially if Noir is behind the table, he’s like the best DJ I’ve ever heard.

Favourite colour: White I think, but purple is porn too

Would you like to be taller or shorter: hmm maybe a little smaller like 5-8 cm or so?

Biggest triumph: to get a release on Nightology because it’s been my best promotion of music so far…

If reborn and you could choose your sex – Man or woman: a worm thing, so you could have sex with your self, instead of masturbating J nahh just kidding, I think I would try to be a woman.

What have you done to prevent global warming today: NOTHING AT ALL, in my opinion it’s BULLSHIT, think about it. How can you explain that the Ice Age disappeared, the snow and ice didn’t melt by gas & oil we burned. It’s because some scientists have to get paid, by saying something. It’s a natural evolution of earth.

What is your weird talent: I’m the most talent-less person in the world, so don’t know, maybe sounding like Master Yoda from Star Wars is my talent?

Collaborate with non-dj-musician: OMG there is so many; everybody from Paul McCartney, Thom York, Ane Trolle, Bent Fabricious Bjerre, Thomas Blachman, Martin Hall, Ennio Moricone, Mike Oldfield, Heidi Herlow, Anisette and the list could go on forever

Favourite city outside Denmark: I’ve been in London once and man what a city, I really love it, and I’m considering moving there later on in my life.

I have Steinberg Cubase 3.11 & Logic Platinum 5.5, though I don’t use them much.

Best buy this year: Must be all albums with Depeche Mode & Portishead.
